Dhaka, September 24, 2025:
In the past 24 hours, five more people have died from dengue across the country, raising the total number of deaths this year to 187. During the same period, 668 new patients were admitted to hospitals.
The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the figures in a press release issued on Wednesday (September 24).
According to DGHS, of the patients admitted in the past 24 hours, 158 were from Barishal division, 106 from Chattogram, 126 from Dhaka division (outside the city corporations), 94 from Dhaka North City, 73 from Dhaka South City, 41 from Khulna, 30 from Mymensingh, 35 from Rajshahi, and 5 from Rangpur division.
Among the five who died in the past 24 hours, three were from Dhaka South and two from Dhaka North.
Since the beginning of this year, a total of 43,841 people have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue.
For comparison, in 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected with dengue and 575 died. In 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives, with 321,179 hospital admissions.
