The dengue outbreak is intensifying across the country as the Aedes mosquito population rises, leading to an increase in infections and deaths. According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), six people died from dengue fever between 8 AM Wednesday and 8 AM Thursday, marking the highest single-day death toll this year.
With these fatalities, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year has reached 145. Previously, on August 21 and June 13, five deaths were reported on each day.
Additionally, in the past 24 hours, 586 more patients with dengue fever were admitted to hospitals across the country. The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS confirmed this information in a dengue-related notice issued on Thursday.
