Dhaka University Central Students’ Union’s (DUCSU) newly elected Vice President (VP) Sadik Kayem said, “This election marks the victory of the July generation. There is no question of victory or defeat here.”
Giving his immediate reaction in front of the Senate Building after the results were announced on Wednesday morning, he paid tribute to the martyrs and said, “The leadership mandate entrusted to us by the students will be fulfilled, InshaAllah. I will not just remain a VP, I will stand by the students as their brother.”
He pledged to build a safe campus and a complete academic environment, saying, “We will ensure a safe university for female students. Together, with all ideologies, we will build the dream Dhaka University.”
Meanwhile, SM Farhad, who was elected as General Secretary (GS), said, “This is not my victory, nor that of any particular group—it is the victory of all Dhaka University students. The responsibility entrusted to us by the students is now our foremost duty.”
