The main session of the three-day international conference on the Rohingya issue in Cox’s Bazar will be formally inaugurated today, Monday (25 August), by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
Earlier, on Sunday at 5 p.m., the first session of the conference was held. A special interactive session with Rohingya representatives was organized, focusing mainly on building trust for their safe and dignified repatriation.
During the session, Rohingya representatives alleged that they have been forced to live as refugees for years due to the silence of the international community. They emphasized that they want to return to their homeland not by force, but as citizens with full rights and dignity.
The discussion was attended by local and international experts, diplomats, politicians, international organizations, academics, and representatives of the Rohingya community.
