Dhaka, Sunday: BNP Chairperson’s advisor Advocate Fazlur Rahman has been served a show-cause notice for making controversial and misleading remarks regarding the July-August mass uprising.
The notice was issued by the BNP central office, directing him to submit a written response within 24 hours. The notice stated that Fazlur Rahman has repeatedly made objectionable statements that contradict the party’s ideals and the spirit of the mass uprising. His remarks have provoked public reaction and are seen as an attempt to tarnish the party’s reputation. The notice also mentioned that he has disrespected the martyrs commemorated during the uprising.
Earlier, at an event, Fazlur Rahman referred to all participants of the July-August uprising as part of the Jamaat faction.
