The government has announced a package of public and private media for Hajj in 2022. Two packages have been set up under the government management.
Of these, the minimum cost of the affordable package has been estimated at Rs 5 lakh to Rs 648, while the cost of the advanced facility package has been fixed at Rs 6 lakh 15 thousand 263. At the same time, the price of the general Hajj package in private management has been fixed at Rs 5 lakh 13 thousand 648.
Religious affairs minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaykobad) made the announcement at a press conference at the secretariat on Tuesday.
In the government hajj package-1, pilgrims will get accommodation between 1,000 and 1,400 meters from Haram Sharif in Mecca and in the Mercazia area of Medina. Tents will be provided in Mina Zone-2, service in accordance with Service Package-3 and food through Moallem. The duration of the period in Saudi Arabia will usually be 35 to 40 days. Additional funds will also be available for room upgrades and short-term packages.
On the other hand, in the government Hajj package-2 (Sacred), between 2 and 3 km from Haram Sharif in Mecca and outside the Markazia area of Medina, the mosque will have accommodation within 800m from the Prophet. Tents will be provided in Zone 5 in Mina. If the hotel is more than two kilometers away, the Salawat bus facility will be provided as per the Saudi government’s policy.
According to the government’s election pledge, the air fare of Hajj flights has been reduced to Rs 24 thousand 830 to Rs 30 thousand to make Hajj management more affordable, humanitarian and accessible. He said the hajj flight in 2023 was about Rs 2 lakh. In 2025, it was reduced to Rs 1 lakh 67 thousand 820 and this time it has been further reduced.
He added that the listed pilgrimage agencies should be formed on the basis of the minimum quota set by the Saudi government. Although it is mandatory to receive the government-approved normal Hajj package, the group agencies will be able to announce three additional packages. However, no shorter service package can be launched than the affordable package announced by the government.
