The United States has launched a new airstrike against Iran. The country’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said the operation began at 6am on Wednesday, i.e. Greenwich Standard Time (GMT).
In a statement released on social media, St.com said the attack was aimed at further weakening the military capabilities used by Iranian forces to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States launched a military operation in Iran for the fifth consecutive day. At least 37 people, including seven Iranian soldiers, were killed in the latest attack. More than 30 civilians have been reported killed in attacks in parts of southern Iran in recent days. At least 260 people were injured in the attacks.
The ongoing military tensions between the United States and Iran have made the security situation in the Middle East more uncertain and raised international concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
