Iran and Israel have threatened to temporarily suspend counter-attacks after tensions in the Middle East. The situation comes after US President Donald Trump called for an immediate end to the conflict.
According to U.S. media and international sources, Israel has suspended new attacks on Iran after Trump’s request. At the same time, Iran also announced the end of its latest missile attack. Tehran has warned that it could re-attack if the military operation in Lebanon continues.
Trump said on social media that both Iran and Israel were looking for a way to defuse “immediate ceasefire” and peace talks are still ongoing.
However, the situation is not completely stable. Israel said that if the Lebanese-based armed group Hezbollah continues to attack Israeli territory, a re-military operation could be carried out in the southern part of Beirut.
According to analysts, this is not a complete ceasefire; rather, it is a temporary pause to prevent further spread of conflict. In the wake of recent missiles and airstrikes, there were fears of greater regional war in the Middle East. The U.S. military is trying to reduce tensions.
