Eleven more children have died of measles and measles in the country in the last 24 hours. Two children have died of measles and nine more have died of measles. Thirty-seven new cases were reported at the same time.
This information was given in the latest situation report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday (May 19th).
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 475 children have died from measles and measles across the country in the last two months. Seventy-seven children died of measles. The remaining 398 children died of measles.
Health experts say the infection is increasing rapidly due to lack of timely vaccination of children, ignorance of parents and shortage of vaccination activities in some areas.
According to doctors, high fever, red rashes or granules in the body, colds and redness of the eyes are the main symptoms of measles. They advised the child to take the child to the nearest hospital or health centre immediately if they show these symptoms.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has already cancelled the leave of doctors and health workers in all government health institutions of the country to deal with the situation. Besides, it has been directed to strengthen the vaccination campaign against measles.
Public health experts have warned that urgent vaccination, awareness campaigns and immediate treatment of infected children are needed to control the infection.
