Nine more children have died in the country in the last 24 hours due to measles and measles symptoms. Of these, three died of measles confirmed by testing and six more died with symptoms. With this, the total number of deaths since March 15 has increased to 352.

According to the report, 1,435 children have been newly infected with measles and measles symptoms in the last 24 hours. Health experts say the increasing number of cases and deaths is a major concern for public health.
According to the Department of Health, 61 children have died of measles in the past one and a half months. In addition, 291 more children have died with measles symptoms.
At the same time, the number of measles patients confirmed in tests has risen to 6,989. In addition, 47,656 people have received treatment in various hospitals across the country with measles symptoms.
Division-wise statistics show that Dhaka Division is the worst-hit in terms of cases and deaths. In this division, 173 children have died of measles and suspected measles and 26,080 people have been infected.
The Directorate General of Health Services said that these statistics were prepared based on the time period from 8 am on March 15 to 8 am on May 9.
Public health experts have emphasized strengthening childhood vaccination programs, rapid identification of infected people, and increasing public awareness.
