BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who is the next Chief Minister of West Bengal, has been discussed.
According to several sources, he is more likely to form the government after a big victory in the recent assembly elections.
According to a report by Indian media NDTV, the BJP MLA party will meet in Kolkata on Friday (May 8th) as part of the government formation process. At that meeting, Suvendu Adhikari may be elected as the leader of the MLA party. West Bengal BJP president Shamik Bhattacharya may propose his name.
After the meeting, the top leaders, including Suvendu Adhikari, will go to the Raj Bhavan and demand the formation of the government. The swearing-in ceremony of the new government is planned to be held on May 9. Central leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are likely to attend the event.
Suvendu Adhikari came to the centre of discussion in the political arena after defeating Mamata Banerjee in her own seat in this election. He also lost his life in Nandigram in 2021.
According to party analysts, Suvendu Adhikari is the most advanced in the post of Chief Minister due to the increasing BJP’s organisational strength in the state and popularity at the field level. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier hinted that the next Chief Minister of West Bengal would be a leader who is closely associated with Bengal.
