Six more children have died of measles and measles in the country in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths in the ongoing outbreak has increased to 317.
According to the latest notification published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room, a total of 42 thousand 979 suspected cases have been detected in the country from March 15 to May 8th. Measles have been confirmed in the bodies of five thousand 726 people through the test.
At the same time, 29 thousand 831 patients were admitted to the hospital with a confirmed conviction. Twenty-six thousand people have returned home after treatment.
Fifty-four children have died of measles so far. Twenty-three more people died of measles. Health experts say the outbreak will be difficult to control without strengthening the vaccination program and raising public awareness.
