The 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Dakhil and equivalent examinations have begun simultaneously across the country. The presence of candidates can be seen at various centers across the country as per the scheduled schedule since Tuesday morning.
This year, a total of about 1.857 million students are taking part in this important public examination, which is considered one of the largest assessment activities in the education system.
According to the Ministry of Education , although the number of male candidates is slightly higher, the participation of female candidates is almost equal. The maximum number of students is appearing in the exam under the 9 general education boards, while there is also significant participation under the madrasa and technical education boards.
On the first day of the exam, the Bangla first paper is being held in the General Education Board. On the other hand, the Dakhil exam is being conducted in the Quran Majeed and Tajweed, and the technical board is being conducted in the related subject-based exam. This exam is being conducted through about 4,000 centers across the country, where students from more than 30,000 educational institutions are participating.
To maintain order, students have been allowed to enter the exam centers early. Many candidates have expressed some anxiety about their first-day experience, but are taking the exam with confidence. Parents are also coming with their children to help, especially to ease the first-day formalities.
He also said that initiatives have been taken to include digital crime-related issues in the existing Public Examination Act, so that technology-based fraud can be strictly suppressed.
According to education analysts, conducting such exams smoothly with a large number of students participating is a major administrative challenge. However, with coordinated preparation and strong monitoring, it is possible to keep the exam process transparent and smooth.
