Seven more children died of measles from 8am on Sunday to 8am on Monday. They are all residents of Dhaka. At the same time, 1,282 children were admitted to different hospitals in the country on suspicion of measles.
This information was given in a notification issued by the health department on Monday afternoon. Eighteen children have died of measles in the country since March 15. At the same time, 5,940 children were hospitalized; one thousand ৯৯ ৯৯ of them were confirmed to have measle disease in the body. A total of 311 people have been identified in Dhaka, the highest number of cases in the country.
Measles has been confirmed in 1,282 of the 1,282 children who have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours. Thirty-eight of the cases were in Dhaka, which is the highest. No new measles have been reported in Mymensingh division.
According to the departmental statistics, a maximum of 10 patients have been identified in Barisal and Chittagong divisions after Dhaka. Measles have been confirmed in Khulna, 6 in Sylhet, 6 in Rajshahi and 2 in Rangpur.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has warned that childhood measles can spread quickly and severe affect the health of the child. Families have been advised to take them to the hospital immediately.
