In the context of the energy crisis, the government has decided to reconsider the opening hours of shops and shopping malls and keep them open until 7 pm.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit gave this information while talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday. He said that the previous decision has been revised in response to the request of business organizations.
Earlier, in a cabinet meeting, instructions were given to close all shops by 6 pm to deal with the fuel crisis caused by the war in the Middle East. However, traders appealed to the government demanding an extension of the time.
The State Minister said that the application has been reviewed and a new time has been set. According to this decision, shops and shopping malls will remain open until 7 pm, although institutions related to emergency services will be outside this restriction.
