Two Bangladeshi citizens have been killed and at least seven others injured in ongoing missile and drone attacks in various countries in the Middle East, the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on Monday.
One of the deceased was Saleh Ahmed, a resident of Baralekha, Sylhet, working in Ajman , United Arab Emirates . He lost his life after being hit by debris falling from the sky. Another Bangladeshi was killed and three others injured in a similar incident in Bahrain .
Meanwhile, four Bangladeshis were injured in a drone attack in Kuwait . They are in stable condition after receiving treatment, the embassy said.
The Foreign Ministry said that the Bangladesh embassies in the United Arab Emirates and Manama are in close contact with local authorities. Initiatives will be taken to repatriate the bodies of the deceased once commercial flights resume normal operations. At the same time, Bangladeshis living abroad have been urged to exercise utmost caution.
