In the context of the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, the relevant Bangladeshi embassies have issued an emergency warning to Bangladeshis living in six countries: Lebanon , Qatar , the United Arab Emirates , Bahrain , Kuwait and Iraq .
In a separate notice issued on Saturday, the embassies urged expatriates to avoid military installations and conflict zones, stay in safe places, and not go out unnecessarily. They also urged them to avoid spreading rumors and gatherings.
The embassies also advised to keep passports, local ID cards, health cards, essential medicines, cash, water and dry food on hand at all times. They also advised to refrain from posting photos, videos or unwanted information on social media, which may be considered a violation of local laws.
Bangladeshis living in the southern and western regions of Lebanon, especially in the areas surrounding the capital Beirut, have been instructed to exercise extra caution.
In case of any emergency, expatriates have been requested to contact the designated hotline and e-mail of the Bangladeshi embassy or consulate in their respective countries. The embassies have emphasized on strictly following the instructions of the local government until the current situation normalizes.
