Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has said that Afghanistan wants to end the ongoing conflict through talks. However, he warned that Afghanistan is ready to take countermeasures if Pakistan continues the war.
At a press conference on Friday, Mujahid said Afghan forces had already attacked important military installations in Pakistan. In his words, it was a “clear message – our capabilities can reach their necks.” However, the Taliban government is prioritizing a peaceful solution .
Accusing Pakistan of being unwilling to engage in talks, he said that Pakistani spy planes were still active in Afghan airspace. At the same time, he said that a section of the Pakistani army was responsible for regional instability.
Pakistan has long accused Afghanistan of harboring the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a charge Mujahid called “an excuse” and said it was destabilizing the region.
