Yesterday, February 15, at 3 pm, the funeral of freedom fighter, veteran politician, former teacher and social worker Momtaz Uddin Chan Mia Master was held with national honors at the Doripura High School grounds.
He was the founding general secretary of Joynagar Union BNP. This veteran politician was elected president of Joynagar Union BNP several times. During the party’s crisis, he successfully served as the president of Shibpur Upazila Nationalist Farmers’ Party.
He was a former teacher of Kamrab High School, Shibpur, Narsingdi and one of the founders and former teachers of Daripura Adarsh High School. He was very popular in Joynagar Union and Shibpur Upazila as a village arbitration judge, social worker and politician. The presence of thousands of leaders and activists of different parties and common people at his funeral is an expression of people’s love for him. Mr. Manjur Elahi, the newly elected MP from Shibpur Upazila of Narsingdi 3, District BNP Member Secretary, came to his house to console the bereaved family and see the deceased.
The eldest son of the deceased, Mahmudul Hasan Tutul, is working as a Senior Principal Officer in the Secretariat of the Managing Director of Rashtriya Rupali Bank PLC, his middle son Shahriar Hasan Roni is the convener of the Union Sechchhasebak Dal and a businessman, and his younger son Zahid Hasan Jewel is the President of the Student Party of Noakhali Engineering and Technology University. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and numerous relatives and followers.
