Ballot papers and voting equipment have started arriving at various polling stations across the country as part of preparations for the 13th National Parliament election and referendum. Election Commission officials said ballot papers and ballot boxes will reach all polling stations outside Dhaka by Wednesday night. The equipment is expected to reach Dhaka and other major cities by the evening.
Simultaneous voting will be held tomorrow, February 12, from 7 am to 4:30 pm. In this election, voters will cast their votes on two ballot papers – white ballots for the election of members of parliament and pink ballots for the referendum.
According to the Election Commission, about 958,000 law enforcement personnel will be deployed across the country on polling day. The security system has been divided into three levels—central, mobile, and striking forces.
On Tuesday, Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam said that no one has the ability to disrupt the election due to this security arrangement. However, he also commented that the risk of isolated crimes cannot be completely ruled out.
