Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem has declared that he will not back down in the face of Israel’s ongoing military campaign. Speaking at an event in Lebanon, he said that the organization will never surrender and will continue to resist Israeli aggression with full force.
Naeem Qassem said Hezbollah’s position is not just a military struggle, but a struggle for survival. In his words, this resistance is self-defensive and there is no question of surrender. He said, “This land is ours. Not an inch will be given up.”
He criticized Western countries, claiming that in the name of Israeli security, they are actually supporting the desire to create a greater Israel. At the same time, he complained that Israel is targeting civilians and infrastructure by failing to confront Hezbollah fighters.
Rejecting international pressure to disarm Hezbollah, Qassem said such demands are the initial step to eradicating the organization’s existence. Therefore, resistance is the only way out. He called on Lebanese government officials not to put additional pressure on the civilian population, already burdened by the burden of war.
