The interim government has detailed the security measures taken for the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections and referendum. Newly appointed US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen was briefed about these initiatives during a meeting with Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The US Embassy in Dhaka said the meeting directly discussed the government’s preparations and strategies to secure the election environment. Ambassador Christensen praised the government’s initiatives for providing a clear understanding of the steps taken to ensure security.
The meeting not only focused on the elections but also on strengthening bilateral security cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States. The possibility of enhancing mutual cooperation in various security sectors important to the two countries was also discussed.
