Rajshahi Warriors emerged champions of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) by defeating Chittagong Royals by 63 runs in a one-sided match. Batting first, Rajshahi scored 174 runs in the final held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, while Chittagong’s innings was bundled out for 111 runs.
With this win, Rajshahi Warriors secured their second title in BPL history. The franchise previously won the title in the 2019-20 season under the name Rajshahi Royals.
The main hero of the final was opener Tanjid Hasan Tamim. He scored a brilliant century off 62 balls with six fours and seven sixes. This was the third century in the BPL final – Chris Gayle and Tamim Iqbal had achieved such a feat before. Tanjid’s innings laid the foundation for Rajshahi’s big collection.
Chittagong were in trouble from the start in the run chase. The team could not come back from the break, losing wickets at regular intervals. The brightest star in Rajshahi’s bowling attack was Binura Fernando, who took 4 wickets for just 9 runs in 3 overs. Hasan Murad took 3 wickets.
Ultimately, the final became a showcase of Rajshahi’s controlled performance—where they were clearly ahead in both the bat and ball departments.
