The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) supporting the BCB’s position amid uncertainty over Bangladesh’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
ESPN Cricinfo reported that the letter was sent in support of the BCB’s firm stance on not playing in India due to security reasons.
The report said that while the BCB has proposed hosting the match in Sri Lanka instead of India, the ICC is still adamant about changing the venue or schedule. The ICC has called a meeting on Wednesday to find a solution to the issue.
Although the PCB’s support is not expected to have a major impact on the ICC’s decision, the fog over Bangladesh’s participation has not cleared before the start of the World Cup. The World Cup is scheduled to begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka.
