Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) has filed a chargesheet against 17 people in the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi. The DB’s investigation has revealed that the murder was committed on the orders of former Mirpur ward councilor and Jubo League leader Taijul Islam Chowdhury Bappi.
DB Chief Md. Shafiqul Islam gave this information at a press conference held at the DMP Media Center on Tuesday (January 6) afternoon. He said that a charge sheet has been filed against a total of 17 people, including the absconding accused Faisal, as evidence of the involvement of the accused was found during the investigation.
According to DB information, on December 12, two young men riding a motorcycle shot Osman Hadi in the head and fled in the capital’s Bijoynagar area. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in serious condition and later admitted to Evercare Hospital. When his condition deteriorated, he was sent to Singapore for better treatment on December 15. He died on December 18 while undergoing treatment there.
The DB said that after completing the investigation into the case, a chargesheet has been submitted to the court and the operation to arrest the absconding accused is continuing.
