Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have expressed deep grief over the death of three-time former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, in a condolence message sent to President Md. Shahabuddin, prayed for the eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. In a separate condolence message, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also expressed deep sorrow over the death of the late leader and his sympathy to the family.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in a condolence message sent to the President, expressed deep sorrow over the death of Bangladesh’s first female Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and expressed his condolences to the people of Bangladesh.
It is noteworthy that Begum Khaleda Zia passed away on December 30 at the age of 80. The next day, on December 31, she was buried with full state honors next to the grave of her husband, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, at Zia Udyan in the capital.
