All preparations have been completed at Manik Mia Avenue for the funeral of three-time former Prime Minister, uncompromising leader of the democratic movement and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The funeral will be held on the inner grounds, outer parts of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban and the entire Manik Mia Avenue.
On Wednesday (December 31), the Chief Advisor’s official Facebook page said that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure that people from all walks of life can pay their last respects to the national leader and participate in the funeral without any hindrance. Arrangements have also been made for people to stand on the roads adjacent to Manik Mia Avenue.
The message further informed that after the funeral, Begum Khaleda Zia will be buried with state honors next to the tomb of martyred President and freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman at around 3:30 pm. Family members, important state figures, government officials, foreign guests, ambassadors and BNP-nominated representatives will be present during the burial.
To ensure smooth completion of the burial, entry of others except designated persons will be prohibited. In addition, the movement of general public will be restricted in the Zia Udyan area of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar until the burial is completed.
