BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has warned that the times ahead for the country are not easy and signs of anarchy are being seen in various places. He urged everyone to remain vigilant and united in this situation.
Tarique Rahman made this statement while addressing the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the digital memorial commemorating the July martyrs at the Shaheed Titu Auditorium in Bogra’s Municipal Edward Park on Sunday afternoon.
He said, Shaheed Osman Hadi believed in democracy and electoral politics. If we want to honor the July martyrs, establishing peace for the country, protecting democracy and people-centered politics are the only way. In his words, “The goal is one—to work, to build the country, Bangladesh first.”
Tarique Rahman, referring to the past governance of the state under the leadership of BNP, said that martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia had taken the country from crisis to the path of development. He said that the responsibility has come again – priority should be given to health, education, employment and women’s empowerment. Stating that the country’s economic situation is facing challenges, he stressed on hard work.
At the end of the event, he said that all political forces that believe in democracy must remain united and move the country forward, regardless of party affiliation.
