The government has appointed 673 candidates to various cadres of the Bangladesh Civil Service in the first phase of the 27th BCS (2005) examination, ending a long wait. The appointment was made based on the recommendations of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, the notification said.
The recruits will join the entry level posts with salaries ranging from Tk 22,000 to Tk 53,060 as per the National Pay Scale 2015. They will have to undergo basic and professional training at designated institutions including the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center and serve as apprentices for two years.
The government has said that if the training and apprenticeship period is completed satisfactorily, the job will be permanent. However, if the employee is deemed unsuitable during this period, the job can be terminated without giving any reason. If the employee leaves the job, there will also be an obligation to refund the training expenses.
The appointment order to preserve seniority will be effective retroactively from the date of the first notification of the batch, although it will not result in any outstanding financial benefits.
