Sharif Osman Hadi, a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 seat and a spokesman for the Inqilab Mancha, will be taken to Singapore by air ambulance on Monday afternoon for better treatment. The chief adviser’s press wing said in a press release on Sunday night.
The decision was taken after urgent discussions with the concerned advisers, medical team and Hadi’s family at the behest of Professor Muhammad Yunus. According to experts at Evercare Hospital, Hadi’s condition is currently stable but needs better treatment.
The government has completed all the arrangements for his treatment in the Accident and Emergency Department of Singapore General Hospital. Medical air ambulances, medical teams and travel preparations have also been completed. The state will bear all the expenses of Hadi’s treatment.
Sharif Osman Hadi was shot in the head in the capital’s Vijaynagar on Friday. He was first shifted to Evercare Hospital after undergoing surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The government has said that it will keep a constant monitoring of its medical process and has asked the countrymen to pray for his speedy recovery.
