A cow has been reported to have gotten stuck inside the open drain cover of Board Bazar in Gazipur City. This image can be seen in a video posted on social media on Thursday (December 11) morning.
Locals said that the drain cover on the side of the road had been broken or open for many days, but the concerned authorities had not taken the initiative to repair it. After the incident, the locals got together and tried to rescue the cow. However, it is not known whether the cow has been pulled out of the drain. Locals alleged that accidents are regularly happening in different areas of Gazipur city due to broken or open drain covers.
They have sought urgent intervention from the Gazipur City Corporation to resolve the problem quickly and ensure safety. City Corporation officials said that the matter has come to their attention and the drain covers will be repaired soon.
