The Cabinet Division has reshuffled the responsibilities of the interim government’s advisory council following the resignation of two advisors. In a gazette published on Thursday, three ministries were newly divided among three advisors.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which was previously held by the recently resigned Mahfuz Alam, has been handed over to environmentalist Syeda Rizwana Hasan.
Meanwhile, of the two responsibilities vacated by Asif Mahmud, the Youth and Sports Ministry has been given to jurist Professor Asif Nazrul.
The Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry has been given to human rights activist Adilur Rahman.
The government said the new distribution was made to ensure continuity of administration and speed of policymaking after the recent resignations.
