Doctor Dhandeb Chandra Barman has unconditionally apologized after receiving a show cause notice after an altercation with Director General (DG) of the Department of Health (DG) Md. Abu Jafar, who visited Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He submitted a written reply to the hospital director around 11 am on Sunday.
Dhandeb said, “DG Sir is a senior citizen. I too was rude in a heated situation. I sincerely apologize.”
The incident took place on Saturday, when the DG was inspecting the casualty operation theatre of the hospital. When Dhandev raised a question about the presence of a table in the room, he got into an argument. Following the incident, he was relieved of his duties and given a show cause notice.
Dhandeb Chandra Barman has been serving as the in-charge of the hospital’s one-stop service since August 2023. He was promoted to the rank of assistant professor in July this year.
The hospital authorities said that further decisions will be made after reviewing the complaint’s response.
