Immediately after arriving in Dhaka from London, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s daughter-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahman went to Evercare Hospital to check on her health. She discussed Khaleda Zia’s treatment plan and possible foreign travel with the doctors. She is currently staying at Khaleda Zia’s bedside in the hospital.
Zubayda arrived in Dhaka on a Bangladesh Biman flight around 10:45 am on Friday. She was welcomed at the hospital by BNP standing committee member Selima Rahman and other party leaders.
Party sources say that Zubaida Rahman will accompany Khaleda Zia to London for advanced treatment. However, the journey has been delayed by a day due to a technical glitch in the special air ambulance of the Emir of Qatar. The ambulance is likely to arrive on Saturday, although the final decision depends on Khaleda Zia’s physical fitness.
Khaleda Zia had previously received treatment in London earlier this year in a similar air ambulance. Party leaders said there were plans to take her abroad under alternative arrangements if an emergency arose.
