Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is in Adiala Jail — but there is a lot of speculation about his whereabouts and health across the country. In this context, Imran’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced protests in Rawalpindi. As a precaution, the local administration imposed Section 144 in the city for three days, banning all types of meetings and gatherings of people on the streets.
Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema said that from December 1 to 3—
Any gathering, procession or procession of more than five people is prohibited,
Weapons, flammable objects, or any equipment that could be used in violence may not be carried,
Exciting speeches, the use of loudspeakers, and carrying passengers on the back of motorcycles are also prohibited.
The administration says this is a cautious decision taken to maintain public safety and stability.
The government is still silent on Imran’s position, leading to increasing uncertainty and anger among his supporters.
