Mexican contestant Fatima Bosh was crowned the winner of the 74th Miss Universe pageant held in Thailand on Friday, November 21. The runner-up was host country Thailand’s Pravinar Singh. At 26, Bosh becomes the fourth Mexican to claim the Miss Universe crown.
Venezuela’s Stephanie Abasali, the Philippines’ Atisa Manalo, and Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yasse secured spots in the top five. This year, the pageant featured 120 contestants, including Nadine Ayoub, the first representative from Palestine, who reached the semifinals.
Over three weeks, contestants participated in rehearsals and events across Thailand. The National Costume Showcase highlighted each country’s heritage. The event was hosted by American comedian Steve Byrne. During the preliminary gown round, Jamaica’s Gabrielle Henry suffered a fall but is reported to be recovering under medical supervision.
The pageant, filled with dramatic moments and displays of resilience, brought international recognition and pride to Mexico through Fatima Bosh’s victory.
