The International Crimes Tribunal has set November 17 (Sunday) as the date for delivering the verdict in the crimes against humanity case related to the July–August movement, in which deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal are among the three accused.
The date was fixed on Thursday (November 13) by the three-member bench of International Crimes Tribunal-1, headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Mojumdar. The other members of the tribunal are Justice Shafiul Alam Mahmud and retired District and Sessions Judge Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
Among the accused, Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal remain fugitives. However, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, who turned state witness after being one of the accused, appeared before the tribunal under tight security.
