President Md. Shahabuddin has arrived in his home district Pabna on a two-day visit. This is his first visit to the district after the July uprising.
He reached Pabna by helicopter on Saturday morning around 9:45 AM. He was received by the District Commissioner Mohammad Mofizul Islam and Superintendent of Police Mortaza Ali Khan.
After receiving a guard of honor at the Circuit House, the President visited the graves of his parents at the central cemetery. Later, he will meet relatives and close family members at his residence.
According to an official statement, the President will spend the night at the Circuit House. On Sunday morning, after receiving another guard of honor, he will depart for Dhaka by helicopter.
It may be noted that Md. Shahabuddin took office on April 24, 2023, as the 22nd President of Bangladesh. This is his fifth visit to Pabna since assuming office. His last visit was on June 9 last year. Two months after that visit, the student and public uprising led to the fall of the Awami League government.
