The Election Commission (EC) has called for objections regarding 16 new election observation organizations ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. A public notice on the matter was issued on Saturday.
According to the notice, before granting final registration to these organizations as election observers, any claims, objections, or allegations against them must be submitted in writing by November 27 at 5 PM. Objections must be submitted in six copies, along with supporting documents, including the objector’s name, address, and phone number.
After hearings, the EC will decide whether to accept or reject the objections, and the decision of the Commission will be considered final.
The 16 organizations under primary consideration include: Aso Jati Gori (AJAG), Netrakona Social Development Organization (NSDO), Development Organization of the Rural Poor (DORP), Help Center for Human Rights Foundation, Keraniganj Human Resources Development Society, Deepta Mohila Unnayan Sangstha, RESDO, RUSTIC, Bachte Shekha, PASHA, International Asaf Legal Aid Foundation, Manab Unnayan Kendra, B-SCAN, Jubo Academy, SDS (Shariatpur Development Society), and Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh.
Earlier on Thursday, the Election Commission granted final registration to 66 domestic observer organizations.
