Turkey has issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and 37 officials of his government on charges of genocide in the Gaza Strip under the guise of military operations.
The warrants were issued on Friday (7 November) by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul.
Among those named in the arrest order are Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Interior Minister Ya’al Zamir. The charges include genocide in Gaza, crimes against humanity, and the interception of an international aid flotilla in September.
Israel has strongly condemned the move. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated that the warrants are part of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s political propaganda campaign.
