Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has said that skilled manpower is the main foundation of building the country. He stated that diploma engineers have been playing a significant role in Bangladesh’s development journey. From infrastructure to industrial sectors, their services and technical expertise have greatly contributed to laying the foundation of a modern economy.
He said that as a large professional organization, the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) has been nurturing this skilled workforce, promoting technical education, and encouraging innovation for sustainable growth.
The Chief Adviser made these remarks in a message issued on the occasion of ‘National Engineering Day and the 55th anniversary of IDEB’.
He said, “I extend my greetings and congratulations to all members of IDEB on the occasion of National Engineering Day 2025 and IDEB’s 55th founding anniversary.”
IDEB observes November 8 every year as National Engineering Day. This year’s theme is: “Skilled manpower — the main foundation of nation-building.”
Terming the theme timely, Dr. Yunus said, “A nation’s real strength lies not only in its natural resources, but in the knowledge, skills, and creativity of its people.”
He expressed confidence that IDEB members will remain at the forefront of national development efforts through professionalism, commitment, and innovation, contributing to inclusive development and the realization of national aspirations.
The Chief Adviser also wished success to all programs taken to mark the occasion.
