Bangladesh are on the verge of a T20I series whitewash against the West Indies after losing the first two matches. Today (Friday), Liton Das’s side will take the field in Chattogram for the third and final T20I, aiming to save face and avoid a clean sweep.
The match will begin at 6 p.m. Bangladesh time. Following repeated batting failures, several changes are expected in the playing XI. Zaker Ali Anik, who was given a chance in the last match, is likely to be dropped, with Sheikh Mehedi Hasan expected to return. Out-of-form Shamim Patwary could be replaced by Nurul Hasan Sohan.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed may also be rested, paving the way for Shoriful Islam to rejoin the side. Meanwhile, Towhid Hridoy might be left out, and Parvez Hossain Emon could come in to strengthen the batting line-up.
Unlike the spin-friendly Mirpur pitch, Chattogram offers a more batting-friendly surface. However, whether the Bangladeshi batters can overcome their persistent struggles remains to be seen.
