The family of legendary Bangladeshi film actor Salman Shah has filed a murder case with Ramna Police Station, claiming that his death was a planned killing. In the case, Salman’s ex-wife Samira Huq has been named the main accused, along with “godfather” Aziz Mohammad Bhai, actor Don, and 11 others.
Demanding a fair investigation and immediate arrest of the accused, fans of Salman Shah are set to take to the streets.
A human chain program will be held on Saturday, November 1, at 2:30 PM in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka. Fans from all over the country are expected to join the event.
The program is being organized by a group called “Salman Shah’r Bhaktabrindo” (Fans of Salman Shah). According to the organizers, although nearly three decades have passed since Salman Shah’s mysterious death, the true investigation and justice have not yet been completed. Despite repeated allegations by the family, the real culprits remain beyond the reach of law.
The organizers said the human chain is intended to demand a speedy investigation and arrest of those named in the new murder case.
On social media, Salman’s fans have already begun calling on others to join the movement. One member of the organizing committee said:
“Salman Shah was not just a movie star — he was a symbol of the renaissance of Bangladeshi cinema. The mystery surrounding his death still causes us pain. We urge the state and law enforcement agencies to ensure a fair investigation and justice.”
Notably, on September 6, 1996, Salman Shah was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Eskaton, Dhaka. Although his death was initially reported as a suicide, his family and fans have long maintained that it was a premeditated murder. A new murder case has recently been filed in connection with his death.
