The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in Chattogram, Chapainawabganj, Madaripur, and Feni districts. The Ministry of Public Administration issued the notification on Wednesday, 15 October.
According to the notification, Saiful Islam, previously DC of Feni, has been appointed as the DC of Chattogram. Monira Haque, Joint Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, has been appointed as the DC of Feni.
Mohammad Solaiman, Joint Secretary of the Power Division, has been appointed as DC of Chapainawabganj, and Afsana Bilkis, Joint Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, has been appointed as DC of Madaripur. Among the newly appointed DCs, Solaiman and Afsana Bilkis belong to the 25th batch of the BCS Administration cadre, while Saiful Islam and Monira Haque are from the 27th batch.
The notification also states that the previous order dated 21 September 2025, transferring Mohammad Abdul Auwal, DC of Naogaon, to Chattogram, has been canceled. The order, issued in the public interest, is effective immediately.
