Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has returned home after a two-day official visit to Rome, Italy.
His Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday (October 15), the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing confirmed.
Earlier, on Tuesday (October 14) at 7:20 p.m. local time, Dr. Yunus departed from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport for Dhaka.
He had arrived in Rome on Sunday (October 12) to attend the annual World Food Forum, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
Upon his arrival, he was received by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Italy, A.T.M. Rokebul Haque.
The highlight of the visit was the opening session of the World Food Forum on Monday, where Dr. Yunus delivered a keynote speech.
In his address, he presented six proposals to eradicate global hunger and poverty, which received wide international appreciation.
During his stay in Rome, Dr. Yunus also held separate meetings with the President of Brazil, the Prime Minister of Djibouti, and the Mayor of Rome.
The discussions focused on Bangladesh’s development cooperation, agricultural technology exchange, and the expansion of social business initiatives, along with other matters of mutual interest.
