BNP leader and late Dhaka mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka’s son, Ishraq Hossain, has gotten engaged in a family ceremony. The engagement was confirmed on Saturday (October 11) by Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP’s media cell.
According to sources, Ishraq exchanged rings on Friday (October 10) with Barrister Nusrat Khan, the eldest daughter of Nur Mohammad Khan, a former member of parliament from Tangail and a minister in the cabinet of late President Ziaur Rahman.
Ishraq’s mother, Ismat Hossain, said, “The engagement took place suddenly within the family. We seek everyone’s blessings.”
Born on April 5, 1987, Ishraq spent his childhood and youth in Dhaka. He completed his O-Level and A-Level from Scholastica School and later pursued higher education at the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom, where he obtained both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
After completing his studies in 2011, Ishraq stayed in the UK for a while and gained work experience with local automobile firms. Upon returning to Bangladesh, he took over as the Managing Director of private television channel BanglaVision.
Inspired by the political ideology of his father, late Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka, Ishraq has been actively involved in BNP politics.
