The July National Charter will be signed on October 15 at the South Plaza of the National Parliament. The historic signing ceremony will be led by the Chief Adviser of the Caretaker Government and Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, Professor Muhammad Yunus.
The decision was finalized at a meeting of the National Consensus Commission held on Thursday at the Parliament Secretariat. Pawan Chowdhury, the Commission’s public relations officer, stated that representatives from various political parties and alliances will also attend the event.
During the meeting, experts’ opinions on the implementation of the July Charter, along with feedback gathered from five meetings with political parties, were analyzed. It is expected that recommendations for implementation will soon be finalized and submitted to the government.
Commission members present at the meeting included Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, and Dr. Md. Ayub Mia. Additionally, Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser involved in the consensus-building process, also attended the meeting.
