The government has announced three new packages for next year’s Hajj, lowering overall expenses due to reduced airfare. This year’s Hajj will cost less compared to the previous year.
On Sunday (28 September), at a press briefing held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain announced the Hajj packages for 2026. The minimum cost under Package 3 has been set at Tk 467,167. Package 2 will cost Tk 558,881, while Package 1 will require Tk 690,597.
According to the packages, pilgrims will stay at different distances from Masjid al-Haram: within 700 meters under Package 1, within 1.7 kilometers under Package 2, and in the Aziziyah area under Package 3.
The adviser further informed that airfare has been reduced this year to Tk 154,830, down from Tk 167,820 last year. He also stated that pilgrims aged 70 or 80 and above must be accompanied by someone under 50 years of age, and those with infectious diseases will not be permitted to perform Hajj.
Subject to moon sighting, the holy Hajj will take place on 26 May 2026. A total of 127,198 people from Bangladesh will be able to perform Hajj. Registration will begin on 27 July and end on 12 October.
