In their opening match of the Asia Cup, Bangladesh faced Hong Kong. On Wednesday, captain Liton Das won the toss and chose to bowl first. He said, “This is our first match. We are not sure how the pitch will behave, so we decided to bowl first. We are playing with three pacers, two spinners, and six batsmen.”
Bangladesh’s three pacers are Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Tanzim Saqib. In spin bowling, Rishad Hossain is accompanied by all-rounder Sheikh Mahedi, while part-time spin all-rounder Shamim Patwari will also be in the attack.
Regarding the pitch, Hong Kong played their first match on this ground against Afghanistan. The wicket is dry with small cracks, but it is not expected to give any special advantage to the bowlers.
