Ahead of the upcoming national election, Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has urged the police to remain neutral and work solely in the interest of the people. He cautioned that no political leader should be flattered or given undue privileges.
On Sunday (7 September), at the inauguration of an election training program held at Rajarbagh Police Lines, he said: “Do not lean towards any party. It is your responsibility to fulfill the expectations of the people. Work according to the law and in the interest of the people.”
Regarding the recent unrest in Rajbari, the adviser said that five people have already been arrested in connection with the incident. Once the investigation is complete, it will be clear who was involved. He further emphasized that the investigation will remain transparent and, if negligence or misconduct is proven, action will be taken against the guilty. However, no measures will be taken against anyone found innocent.
